Martin Ivanov is a Ph.D. in History and a senior research associate at the Institute of History at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He has specialized at the University of Cambridge, the University of Edinburgh and the National University of Ireland. He taught business history at the NBU and the departments of European Studies, Sociology and the Faculty of History at Sofia University. Author of more than 70 scientific publications and three monographic studies on the economic policy of Bulgaria from the 70s of the 19th century to the present day.
Orlin Spassov is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology and teaches Media and Communication Studies and Internet Culture. Since 2010, Spassov has been the executive director of Media Democracy Foundation (fmd.bg). The Foundation specializes in monitoring the relationships between media and politics. Spassov is the author of Sport and Politics: Media Rituals, Power Games (2013), Transition and the Media: Politics of Representation (2000) and editor of more than fifteen books, including Media and Democracy (2013), Media and Politics (2011), New Media, New Mobilizations (2011), New Youth and New Media (2009), Quality Press in South East Europe(2004) and New Media in South East Europe (2003).
