This book is an extension of my books Greece in the Embrace of the Three" (2014) and "Corruption and the Crisis in the EU 2008-2013" (2014). The conclusions I have made in them about the Greek crisis and the further struggle with it have been confirmed.
Today, in Greece, there are all the positive and negative effects of globalization. As in other European countries, the market has a leading role. Maintaining a social system requires high costs. A good financial resource is needed for the institutions and the social system to function well in the state. In order to provide financial resources for the maintenance of the institutions and the social system, Greece has to borrow external credits. At the same time, the country's economy can not serve its accumulated obligations.
The root of the problem is the short-sighted government policy of the governments that pushed the country into crisis, the lack of competitiveness of the Greek economy, the wrong formula in the eurozone and the euro, and above all the shortcomings of the free market.
In the first and second parts of the book, I examine in detail the negotiation process of the left government of Alexis Tsipras with the Eurogroup, holding a referendum on 5 July 2015, signing a third rescue loan, scheduling early parliamentary elections on 20 September 2015 and the second Tsipras government after the election. Active diplomacy, emotions, populism, ultimatums, internal politics, structural reforms, etc. Everything is described using the analytical approach.
The book reflects the events in real time, so it is a kind of diary that describes exactly the position of each party. My analysis follows every event and the comments associated with it. The actions of the persons involved and the people on the other hand, were followed.
Events in Greece have no analogue in the history of the European Union. Therefore, a more detailed description of what is happening can be useful and used in other similar cases.
