Alexander Bozhinov
Academician Alexander Nikolov Bojinov (1878-1968) is a famous Bulgarian cartoonist, illustrator, painter, stage designer. Creator of the contemporary modern Bulgarian cartoon, characterized by an extraordinary master line and witty text. The most meaningful and highlighted part of his work is his cartoons against Ferdinand's private regime, ridiculing the political struggles of the acting parties. …
The events appeared, changed, and with them people changed.
I was living with these events, always with the pencil or pen in my hand, and as I was a friend to a lot of people participated in these events, I took notes - some on a small pieces of paper, and others in my memory.
I have been going through a lot these years and I have managed to collect many memories.
One day a representative from the publishing house of the Writer's Union appeared to me and offered me to write some of my memories and hand them over to the publishing house. I responded graciously to this invitation because it was coming from a place known for providing responsibility and knowledge, not a casual person or a publishing house.
Whether what I have written will be entertaining to my readers, or in my memories there will be things that haven’t been known before, and those who have been known, had been shrewdly marked, judged, and transmitted, this will be clear only when my memories become examined by those who can readily read and travelled back into the history of our lives after our liberation.
These memories are a brief life story, which are depicted as heartbreaking moments and without any exaggeration, and what I did not say in this book is of the least importance."
