Diary. 1966-1998 Volume 2

This edition is a rare historical source in which several narrative genres are interwoven - autobiographical, historical and documentary. The publication of diaries by public figures and politicians is a rare occurrence, not only in Bulgaria but also globally - in the last hundred years their number has hardly exceeded a dozen. Even more rare and interesting is the combination when one keep a diary and write an autobiography at the same time. In recent decades, the diaries of politicians B. Filov and G. Dimitrov have received the most public interest. They are not easy to read as the narration is almost missing, the comments are fragmentary and only narrow specialists can navigate the events by dates. In contrast, the diary of Academician Nikolay Todorov is a detailed and readable story with interesting descriptions and analyzes of persons and events for a period of more than twenty years (1975-1998), with minor deviations in the period until 9 September 1944 and thereafter.
