Like all the great discourses of the 1960s and 1970s, the philosophical discourse was affected by the desacralization of authority and the establishment of a mass consumer society driven by its own dynamics and often much more busy with the acquisition of material things than with the mastery of intellectual discourses. But if philosophy is no longer a school of education, it does not mean it has disappeared. Faced with a deepening sense of loss of orientation, philosophy remains a pivotal point for many of our contemporaries who want to live longer and better and who know that the world of things is not enough for them. This explains the success of some philosophers - those I give the floor here.
