Description

"Where is the world going?" and "Where is Europe going?" - these questions were posed by leading Bulgarian diplomats in the previous two publications of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Society. The answer was as quick as it was frustratingly unambiguous: towards war.

Both war and diplomacy are instruments of politics. Today, the international political compass points to "war". And diplomacy is charged with arguing why war should continue, not with finding the path to ending it. But the "to peace through war" thesis leads only to casualties, destruction and hatred. That is why this collection sets itself the difficult task not of rehabilitating diplomacy but of making the case for the possibility of a politics alternative to war.
