The Horney–Coolidge Personality Inventory

Karen Horney's theory defines three neurotic trends as a child's way of coping with basic anxiety: moving toward people (compliance), moving against people (aggression), and moving away from people (detachment). F. Coolidge's questionnaire, known as the Horney–Coolidge Tridimensional Inventory (HCTI), represents an attempt to operationalize the theory and construct an assessment instrument.
