"Significant Dates in Bulgarian History" presents the history of Bulgaria in a non-traditional way - not through separate stories about important events, but through the chronological arrangement of a much wider range of events. It traces what happened to our ancestors from the first written and material sources about the Slavs and the old Bulgarians to our present day, in fact until the last days of 2016.

This approach allows readers to see the development of the state not only through the so-called historical account, but with the help of a long series of small events from different spheres of life - politics, economy, culture, everyday life, diverse personal and state relations with close and distant countries.

The book is a useful guide for anyone who wants to see what has happened in Bulgaria and with Bulgarians on a given date, month or year. It is prepared by a team of university lecturers who are also among the most prominent researchers of different ages оf history of the Bulgarian state: Dr. Valeri Katsunov, Prof. Plamen Mitev, Assoc.
