Conflict of Interest is a matter applicable to over 120,000 state employees who belong to the three branches of state power in Bulgaria. For the nine years of the Act on Prevention and Conflict of Interests, considerable administrative and judicial practice has been accumulated.

The book develops the main theoretical elements of conflict of interest in the light of this practice. Here are the main features of this transgression of the law as a legal phenomenon and a vision of what is a conflict of interest in a number of specific situations.

For the first time, in this work are organized, systemized and analyzed court decisions relevant to the individual texts of the law. Typical cases of conflict of interest concerning different institutional systems have been reported.

The book outlines the main gaps in the current regulatory framework. Specific suggestions have been made to overcome them. The importance of the analysis would be preserved when the legal framework of the conflict of interest is changed.
