"Islam is a threat." Lie!

Franco Cardini, known to the Bulgarian readers with his book "Europe and Islam", continues the unequal struggle to explain and illuminate the relations between the West and the Muslim world. He explores this complex, polymorphic and inconsistent reality that remains unknown to most of us. The "Islamic threat" thesis is often used to shift important topics from the daily round and to spread fear in a society dominated by purely economic interests. The real enemy is the unfair arrangement of this world, the absurd division of humanity, the affluence of a few people and the poverty of millions.

The author, in addition to the strong argumentation of the book's theses, contributes practically with his actions for to the better understanding between the two cultures: in Bagno A Ripoli, where he lives, at the doors of Florence, Cardini organizes various initiatives that build bridges between the different cultures. Understanding otherness is the key to resolve the problems faced by mankind today and an indispensable condition for the distinction between "Islam" and "Islamism".
