Description

This book is the main sociological work of Hristo Todorov, who teaches sociology at the Faculty of Law and the Department of Economic History and Sociology at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".

The name of Todorov, as well as other sociologists, with the exception of Ivan Hadjiyski, is covered with oblivion during the communist regime in Bulgaria. Modern generations of sociologists do not know the sociological works of Todorov. The present work resurrects the work of the university sociologist, the Democrat and the humanist Todorov. Indeed, modern sociology has gone forward for over half a century. Still, Todorov's composition remains a great introduction to sociology, including the challenges it faces for today's readers.

The work is a part of our national sociological tradition and it will be of interest to both students and professional sociologists as well as to a wide range of intellectuals.

- Prof. Georgi Fotev
