A Few More Drops

A few drops may seem like far too little at first glance. Yet, quantity is not the only measure. What matters most is what those drops contain. A few drops of water are usually negligible, while a few drops of tears are always a great deal—whether they are sincere or not. Shedding a tear is always an event. And drops can also be immaterial. A few drops of malice or affection, for instance, or perhaps a tiny droplet of gratitude…

Here, we are speaking of A FEW MORE DROPS OF LYRICISM, timidly spilled into the giant reservoir of literature. They are insignificant, for this reservoir has long been overflowing, spilling into boundless rivers that sweep away entire trees and stones along their path—let alone mere little droplets.

But if you have made your way to these shores after all, why not take a few more drops from this very book? Drink freely; they will soon evaporate anyway. Or perhaps, they will not vanish entirely. Mixed with a bit of oxygen, they might just become fit to breathe.
