Yuliyan Antonov (1955–2019) was one of the most erudite Bulgarian translators and editors, whose work is a cornerstone of the East-West Publishing House catalog.
A long-time specialist at the "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" National Library, he brought rare precision and immense scholarly knowledge to every publication.
For his translation of the fundamental work Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond, Antonov was honored with the prestigious award from the Bulgarian Translators' Union. His name remains a hallmark of linguistic mastery and loyalty to the original text in the fields of scientific and humanitarian literature.
