Yordan Chobanov, Ph.D. was born in Sofia on July 1, 1980. From 1999 to 2003 he studied History at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". In 2003 he started studying "Egyptology" at the New Bulgarian University. He graduated from MA in 2009. Between 2009 and 2014 he held lectures at the NBU as a part-time lecturer and Ph.D. student. In 2013, he defended a dissertation on "Harper's Songs in the Context of the Egyptian Literary Tradition (2nd millennium BC - mid-1st millennium BC)". He participated in the excavations of the TT 263 in Egypt, conducted by the Bulgarian Institute of Egyptology in 2013 and 2015. He is an author of several articles in Bulgarian and English, devoted to ancient Egyptian literature and requiescat beliefs. Since 2018 he has been a member of the Bulgarian Egyptian Society.
