Prof. Stefan Brezinski was born in Zlataritsa, Veliko Turnovo district. He graduated in Bulgarian Philology at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". He has specialized in the Warsaw University and the Charles University in Prague. Assistant Professor in the Department of Bulgarian Language - since 1959 graduated from 1961 - regular associate professor since 1973, professor since 1984. He has published 14 books, including "Bulgarian Syntax", "Journalistic Style", "Linguistic culture" and others.
Professor Brezinski's scientific interests are characterized by the breadth of themes and the originality of the ideas. He holds lectures and workshops on the syntax of modern Bulgarian literary language, on phonetics, linguistic culture, stylistics, etc. His name is related to the shaping of a special share of Bulgarian stylistics, which deals with the problems of style and language culture in journalistic texts. His numerous publications, ranging from the linguistic note to the monograph, make Professor Brezinski among the champions of a good, clean and correct Bulgarian speech.
