Plamen Pavlov (born in 1958) is a Bulgarian historian, poet and publicist.
In 1982 he graduated Veliko Tarnovo University "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" and since 1984 he has been a professor of History of Byzantium and the Balkan countries in the period of IV - XV century at the University of Veliko Tarnovo. Prof. Pavlov has also been a lecturer at various universities (Plovdiv, Shumen, Varna, etc.). He is a screenwriter and consultant of documentary films, dedicated to the Bulgarian past and the fate of the Bulgarians abroad. Prof. Pavlov is co-president of 'World Bulgaria Association" (since 2002), an associate member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts (since 2010) and chairman of the "Buditel" Circle (2010). Also, in 2016 he becomes the chairman of the newly established Center for Medieval Studies in Veliko Tarnovo University. On 22 March 2018 Prof. Pavlov was chosen as an honorary citizen of the town of Veliko Tarnovo.
Prof. Plamen Pavlov is the author of more than 300 articles, studios, books, textbooks, encyclopedias, journalism, poetry, etc.
