Meeting with the great scientist and thinker – Steven Pinker

Join us for a meeting with one of the most influential intellectuals of our time – Prof. Steven Pinker. He will be in Bulgaria at the invitation of the Cultural Center of Sofia University and will be awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the University. The official ceremony is on April 16 at 11 AM in the Aula of the Rectorate, followed by a lecture by Prof. Pinker titled: “When Everyone Knows That Everyone Knows: The Mysteries of Money, Power, and Everyday Life.”

On the same day, at 5 PM in Auditorium 148 of Sofia University, Pinker will talk in English with his readers and admirers. Prof. Steven Pinker is among the most beloved authors of "Iztok-Zapad," known for his books “The Language Instinct,” “How the Mind Works,” “The Stuff of Thought,” “The Better Angels of Our Nature,” “Enlightenment Now,” and “Rationality.” He is a Canadian-American cognitive psychologist and linguist, one of the biggest names in the fields of cognitive science, psychology of language, and evolutionary psychology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Through his books and lectures, he makes complex scientific concepts accessible to a wide audience, encouraging critical thinking, rational discourse, and evidence-based reasoning.
