Patrul Rinpoche (1808-1887) was one of the greatest Tibetan teachers of the 19th century, known for his precise and direct teaching style. He shunned high monastic positions and lived as a vagabond. Patrul Rinpoche wrote his book The Words of My Perfect Master in a secluded cave near Dzogchen Monastery in Kham, eastern Tibet.
