Online meeting with Peter Singer

An ONLINE MEETING with Peter Singer—philosopher, voice of global ethics, and founder of the animal rights movement—will take place on May 18 at 5:00 PM in the Mirror Hall of Sofia University.

At the invitation of the Cultural Center of Sofia University, Prof. Singer will speak to the Bulgarian audience about his book "Ethics in the Real World" (translated by Alexandra Traykova).

Peter Singer is an Australian philosopher, widely regarded as one of the most influential contemporary thinkers in the field of ethics. He graduated with a degree in Philosophy and History from the University of Melbourne. He began his academic career at Oxford and later became a Professor of Bioethics at Princeton University.

Singer is the author of numerous books that challenge public perception and focus on the moral issues of our time. With the publication of Animal Liberation, he laid the foundation for the modern animal rights movement and sparked an ethical debate that continues to this day.

The discussion will be moderated by Ada Eftimova. She holds a BA in Philosophy, International and Economic Studies from Ca' Foscari University of Venice, as well as MAs in Fashion Science from Sapienza University of Rome and Philosophy (taught in English) from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski."
