Polk. Nikola Stoyanov is a lecturer at the Military Academy "G. S. Rakovski" in Sofia and is the director of the center "Qualification, distance learning and computer simulations" at the academy. He was born in 1965 in Sliven. He graduated from the Panayot Volov Higher School of Artillery and Air Defense in the town of Shumen. He then serves in the army and is the commander of various subdivisions, including the General Staff. In the period 2004-2005, Colonel Stoyanov is the Chief of Staff of the Fourth Infantry Battalion of the Bulgarian Military Contingent in Iraq - Diva. He was also commander of the Bulgarian contingent in Afghanistan from April to October 2008. He has been awarded many times with Bulgarian and foreign awards.
