A Literary Evening with Rusi Chanev in Sliven

In Celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the April Uprising
The "Damyan Damyanov" Humanitarian High School cordially invites you to a meeting with actor Rusi Chanev and journalist Kin Stoyanov, dedicated to the special edition of "Under the Yoke" for young readers.
Rusi Chanev – one of Bulgaria's most beloved stage and screen actors – is the author of this adaptation, created for readers aged 9 to 15. The edition preserves Ivan Vazov’s original text while modernizing archaic words to make the novel more accessible to students. The book also features an audio series, narrated by the actor himself.
Joining us will be Kin Stoyanov – a journalist with over 40 years of experience and the son of the great writer Radoy Ralin. He made his first publications in the satirical weekly "Sturshel" and currently serves as the Director of the "Hristo Botev" program at the Bulgarian National Radio. He is an active supporter of culture, media, and education development.
On June 6, an exhibition will open at the "May" Gallery, featuring illustrations for "Under the Yoke" created by students of the "Iliya Petrov" National School of Fine Arts, alongside works from the "Portraits of Unknown Participants" cycle by students of the "St. Luke" National High School of Applied Arts.
Join us to discuss Bulgarian literature, memory, and the ways classic works reach young audiences today.
