Lisa Damour is a psychologist and the author of the award-winning New York Times best seller “Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions Into Adulthood” (Ballantine, 2016), “Under Pressure: Confronting the Epidemic of Stress and Anxiety in Girls” (Ballantine, 2019) and numerous academic papers, chapters, and books related to education and child development.
Dr. Damour is a regular contributor to CBS News and a senior advisor to the Schubert Center for Child Studies at Case Western Reserve University. She also maintains a private psychotherapy practice, consults and speaks internationally and serves as the executive director of Laurel School's Center for Research on Girls.
Dr. Damour received her B.A. from Yale University and her doctorate from the University of Michigan. A Denver native, Dr. Damour now lives in Shaker Heights, Ohio, with her husband and two daughters.
