Carlos Castaneda is an American writer, sociologist and anthropologist of Peruvian origin. His twelve books have sold more than 28 million copies and have been translated into 17 languages.
Born in Peru, he later immigrated to the United States, studied in Los Angeles, and earned a PhD in anthropology. In the following years he wrote a series of successful books with mystical content, in most of which he describes his studies with the Native American magician don Juan Matus.
