"Julius Caesar" is the fifth book in the bilingual library "English Poetic Classics" of the "East-West" publishing house. It continues the Shakespeare Collection of the library, which so far includes in separate volumes the four great tragedies of the English Renaissance poet - "Hamlet", "Othello", "King Lear" and "Macbeth" - all in the latest translation by Alexander Shurbanov, a poet, literary critic and university professor of international renown, translator of "The Canterbury Tales" by Geoffrey Chaucer and "Paradise Lost" by John Milton. Each of Shakespeare's dramas is introduced by a studio preface and is accompanied by explanatory notes. The English text is based on the most authoritative contemporary academic publications. The bilingual format of the library gives readers the opportunity, through the comparison of original and translation, to penetrate deeper into the subtleties of the text of some of the most valuable works of English literature, and also to enter into the specifics of the poetic translation of classical works.
