Iliya Tabakov is a sociologist and holds a Ph.D. in National Security. He completed his higher education in the fields of social sciences and security, with an academic and research specialization in the intersection of social processes, technology, and strategic management.
He is a lecturer at the Military Academy, where he leads courses on national security and the impact of emerging technologies—including Artificial Intelligence—on the contemporary security environment. His research interests encompass the sociology of degradation, the theory of warfare, geopolitics and geostrategy, social engineering, cognitive security, and the transformation of statehood within an accelerating technological landscape.
In his studies, he integrates classical sociological and philosophical concepts with an analysis of social dynamics, technological progress, and national security. His work also focuses on long-term risks to statehood, such as social disintegration, demographic transformations, and the erosion of institutional resilience. He is actively developing concepts related to cognitive superiority, the dromological effects of technology, and the necessity for new models of strategic management in the 21st century.
