Guido Van Genechten

Guido van Genechten was born in 1957 in Mol (Belgium). He studied drawing and painting, graphics and photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Mol. For many years he worked in the graphic design industry. Now works as an illustrator of children's books.

In 1998 he won the international illustrator award of the city of Hasselt with his book "Ricky". This award was the beginning of his international career.

Since then he has created many bestselling books and received several awards. In 2007, he won the Reader's Digest Award for Best Children's Book Illustrator and his book "The Little Kangaroo" was named "Best Picture Book of 2007".

In addition to Ricky and the Little Kangaroo, Guido has created many entertaining characters.

In recent years, Guido van Genechten's books have been published in over 40 countries around the world.
