Deja Vu

I once wrote about the great challenge of Emanuel Ikonomov: that he is unpredictable and always surprises. He surprises both with his bespoke choice of plot and form—and, above all, with his choice of themes and ideas. All of this applies with full force to his new collection, Déjà Vu. It is no coincidence that the author has subtitled it "Stories+". Inside, you will find short stories, grotesques, impressions, fables, satires, miniatures—opening with a novella and concluding with an essay. Infused with nuances of the realistic and the magical, the crime and the fantastic, and so much more besides.
