What prompted me to study the past, the Bulgarian past, was my living interest in personalities, manners, ideas in which the Bulgarian spirit, the national characteristic and the history of the Bulgarian people, dwelled. Psychology of leaders, with their talents in science, literature, public life and political movements has attracted me so strongly. The same as did the manifestations of the massive feelings and share of the people and educated representatives, who have created the opportunity to stand out for the talented leaders. Mutual conditionality here can be accurately perceived at every decisive moment by the fate of our people, and it must be understood and appreciated as something required by the law, alongside anything else in an age that comes from external influences and foreign interventions in the history of every nation.
