Ivaylo Donchev presents his book "The Road from Karakol"

In an era of travel curated for external consumption, Ivaylo Donchev embarks on an analog odyssey that leads him to some of the most remote corners of the planet. After more than five hundred days on the road, over 150,000 kilometers traveled, and more than a year spent writing, his first book is born.
It is more than just a chronicle of an adventure. The jungles, the sands, the peaks soaring thousands of meters high, the sprawling megacities, and the centuries-old ruins of vanished civilizations serve as the backdrop against which the narrative thread weaves together philosophy, history, religion, and politics. The author's gaze is turned outward – toward the world, but also inward – toward himself. With self-irony, naturalism, and honesty, he paints a psychological landscape that spans the spectrum of the human experience: from acute pain and the heights of euphoria to unshakeable sadness and gratitude for life.
"The Road from Karakol" is a book whose vision goes beyond the scales of a specific physical journey or artistic expression. The proceeds from the book and his upcoming exhibitions will be donated to the "Operation: Teddy Bear" Association – an organization dedicated to children and young people who are unable to develop their talents due to economic disadvantages.
