Bozhidar Andonov graduated from the Sofia Seminary "St. Ivan Rilski" (1974), the Spiritual Academy "St. Kliment Ohridski" (1980); specialized in the East-Church Institute in Regensburg (1991-1992). His Ph.D. (1995-2000, University of Eichstadt) is in the field of religious pedagogy and didactics of religious education in school. Habilitation (2000-2006, Institute for Orthodox Godology at Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich) was successfully completed in 2006 at the Faculty of Theology at the Sofia University, where since 2006 he has been the head of the disciplines Religious Pedagogy and Oleletics. In 2008-2009, he was in charge of "Practical Theology" at the Institute of Orthodox Theology at the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, where he has been teaching lectures on Religious Pedagogy and Oleletics since 2010.
