This book is the third collection of my selected articles - after byzantica minora (Sofia: LIC 2000) and Byzantine Etudes (Sofia: Komunitas 2014). Miscellanea differs from the other two. Yes, here too most of the texts thematize Byzantine philosophy and the culture that made it possible. In the second part, however, I take the liberty of presenting studies on topics outside the Byzantine tradition of thought, from Parmenides to Beckett. The third part is a direct engagement with the contemporary debate about the nature of philosophy, its meaning and its realization. The texts - with one exception, from 1991 - have been printed since 2013. Two of the articles are being published in Bulgarian for the first time. Experience shows that bringing together publications that have appeared in a short period of time in different publications and reached different readership circles is productive. In this way, they present the author's search more comprehensively, but also enter into a dialogue with each other in which their overlap and interaction produce an effect not otherwise achievable.
