Born Nadine Lhopitalier, daughter of a policeman, she started working in a Renault factory at 14. Now she has 10 homes, including chateaux in Bordeaux and Geneva, as well as houses in Brittany, Israel, and Megeve in the French Alps. Her Paris hotel particulier, built for Napoleon III, is furnished with a formidable art collection and overlooks the presidential palace.
