The Sea of Discord

The Asian-Pacific region has become the center of world events. In Southeast Asia, the East and the South China Sea, the Korean Peninsula, Oceania, in recent years, processes are occurring all over the world. Hegemon was the United States in this area, but China is now claiming to share its place. The world's unipolar world order is gradually giving way to the multipolar one. After the final shaping of the new world order, the decisions for the world will be taken by many centers.

China continues its upward trend. China's political positioning as a regional leader, including the events taking place in Southeast Asia and the SCS (South China Sea), make the country not only the most important economic partner but also the most serious competitor and rival of the United States.

The reorientation of Russian policy towards Eurasia and Russia's alliance with China makes it even more difficult for US hegemony in the region. Although Donald Trump's approach is different from Barack Obama's, SCS will remain the center of a rivalry between the Great Powers.
