Dr. Antoaneta Doncheva is Associate Professor at the Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski". She has held courses at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski "and New Bulgarian University. She was an Erasmus lecturer at the University of Cologne (2013). She specialized in Italy. Her main research interests are in the field of semiotics and philosophy of the arts.
Doncheva is author of the monographs The Masc – liberty and prison. The problem of Identity in the written works of Luigi Pirandello. The Naked Masks (Sofia, East-West, 2007) and Self and Other and West European Culture – XX c, (Sofia, East-West, 2014) as well as articles published in Bulgaria, Austria, USA, Italy and China. Member of the Editorial Board of the electronic magazine philosophia.bg.
She is a member of the Semiotic Society of America and of the South East European Center for Semiotic Studies.
