Alexander Abadzhiev

Alexander Marinov Abadzhiev is a Bulgarian writer, journalist and popular opera critic.

Born June 2, 1935 in Pleven, in the family of linguists Marin Abadzhiev and Mariоlka Abadzhieva.

At the age of 6 he starts studying music at Pancho Vladigerov. Early he interrupted his activity as a concert pianist and accompanist and gave himself up to writing. He is the author of dozens of books, screenwriter and is also a director of documentary tv-movies. Alexander Abadzhiev is a biographer of the opera star Nikolay Ghiaurov. The book about him was published in Moscow in 1983 with a edition of 192,000 pieces.

He has written more than 70 books on musical themes, mostly in the field of opera.
