Albert Zimmermann

Albert Zimmermann (1928-2017) was Director of the Thomas Institute of the University of Cologne from 1967 to 1993 and Ordinarius for Philosophy of the Middle Ages at the Philosophical Seminar. Since 1978 he has served as director of the "Averrois opera" of the Union Académique International (UAI) and as director of the Averroes Latinus office of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences at the Thomas Institute. From 1977-1979 Professor Albert Zimmermann was Dean of the Faculty of Arts. From 1992-1997 he served as President of the Société Internationale pour l'Etude de la Philosophie Médiévale (SIEPM).
