Albert Ellis, Ph.D., holds a master's degree and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Columbia University. He is the founder of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)—the pioneer among modern cognitive-behavioral therapies. He serves as President of the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City, where he practices individual and group psychotherapy, supervises and trains psychotherapists, and conducts numerous lectures and workshops both at the Institute and worldwide. He has published over 700 articles and more than 60 books on psychotherapy, marital and family therapy, and sex therapy.
Raymond Chip Tafrate, Ph.D., earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont, and his master's and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Hofstra University. A Fellow of the Albert Ellis Institute for Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and a licensed psychologist in New York, Dr. Tafrate is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Central Connecticut State University. He conducts research on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with anger problems. His work in this area has been published in several scientific journals and books, and his findings have been presented at numerous professional conferences in the United States and abroad.
