The present monograph analyzes multivariably for the first time in Bulgaria the medical treatise of Aulus Cornelius Celsus, „For the Medicine“, written in the 30s of the 1st century AD. In the Bulgarian classical philology the field, which covers the specialized study of medical language, is still undeveloped. Attention was directed mainly to literary works, rather than the technical works created in various scientific fields.
The idea for the monograph came from the need for the our country to also proceed with the research of ancient Greek and Latin medical writings, which should be analyzed in terms of contents and language, and to create specialized dictionaries to be used for linguodidactic purpose.
The research follows the tradition of linguocultural archeology and aims to create a model for terminology and socio-cultural research in the field of specialized vocabulary and medical history in the Antiquity.
