Japanese civilization

Bratislav Ivanov has graduated in Japanese language from the Moscow State University and has specialized in the Japanese Language Institute at the Japanese Foundation. He is author of many books and articles on Japanese language and Japanese writing, as well as a series of translations of classical Japanese poetry. He is the first teacher of classical Japanese language and theoretical grammar of contemporary Japanese at Sofia University. In 2009, Bratislav Ivanov was awarded the oldest Japanese Order - the Order of the Rising Sun - for contributions to the Japanese language studies and his teaching in Bulgaria. (Contributed to the development of the academic research of Japanese language in Bulgaria and to the promotion of Japanese language education).
