Lyubomir Miletich is one of the most prominent Bulgarian scholarly philologists and public figures after the Liberation. To the Bulgarian people, to its history and language, he devoted his life, abilities, erudition, extreme hard work and inexhaustible energy.
The book contains rich language material, which is subsequently processed and systematized. The author even lists the places he visited during the study - Chepino and Rupchos, Peshtera, Batak, the villages of Lilkovo, Shiroka Luka, Dedovo, Orehovo, Gela and Stoykite huts, etc. There are various reasons why Miletich is prevented from completing his work quickly. It was not until 1912 that the book came out of print and quickly became popular in the scientific circles. The Rhodopean Dialects in Bulgarian language" is considered to be one of the most influential and well-renowned work in the field of Bulgarian dialectology to this day. The Bulgarian edition also contains an introduction by Prof. Dr. Todor Boyadjiev.
