Description

In his hands, the reader holds one of the masterpieces of Simeon Radev, Macedonia and the Bulgarian Revival", known perhaps to a few of his short editions - the first in French from 1918 and his Bulgarian translation from 1927-1928. This book of our distinguished publicist, historian and diplomat Simeon Radev definitely belongs to the masterpieces of Bulgarian historical journalism, both in its language and style and in the truths about our past. The purpose of the first edition was to highlight the arguments for Macedonia's belonging to Bulgaria and its population as part of the Bulgarian people, as well as its historians - kings, patriarchs, bishops, warlords, booksellers, builders and ordinary people and to prove this to the Great Powers. During the Second World War, when he was no longer in diplomatic affairs, Simeon Radev revises the first edition and prepares the book in two volumes, titled "The Struggles for Nationality and the People's Church" (Volume I) and the second one "The Struggle for the National Unity and Freedom". Even when he was already working on "Builders of Modern Bulgaria", he had this idea to write later a broad approach to them. In fact, his book "Macedonia and the Bulgarian Revival" performs this task.

Simeon Radev traces back the centuries-old struggles of Bulgarians from Macedonia since the establishment of the Bulgarian state to reaching the official recognition of our people with the establishment of the Bulgarian Exarchate.
