Georgi Dimitrov
Georgi Georgiev Dimitrov is a Bulgarian teacher, bookseller, public figure.
He was born in Kyustendil. In 1851-58 he studied at Kyustendil with Averkiy Popstoyanov, and in 1858-59 he was a teacher in Svilengrad. He is the companion of Metropolitan Abkhatiy Veleshki in his travels to Macedonia - Shtip, Kratovo, Kochani. Оne of the fighters for church independence. Because of the assassination in Haskovo in 1873, he was arrested and released for £ 100, collected from his family. He participated in the Stara Zagora Uprising in 1875. He works as a bookseller in Edirne and is also an associate of Hristo G. Danov (from 1860). In 1878 he settled in Plovdiv. In 1891 he met with Minister Georgi Zhivkov for archaeological monuments he found in Provadia and Vrachesh. Attorney at law. He co-operates with the newspaper "Macedonia" (1870), "Pravo" newspaper (1870), "East Time" newspaper. In 1874 he published a calendar and a "Little Child's Hornbook". Author of three books on the history of Bulgaria (1894/1895;1896; 1899).
